THE CENTER

Through the generous donation of Tom
Scannapieco and Scannapieco Development Corp. New Hope Arts has a
new home. Taking on the responsibility of a building has been a challenging
and exciting experience. This past year has been dominated by meetings
with architects, designers, community groups, city fathers and a
variety of agencies and organizations. The reception from the public
has been overwhelmingly positive and the group is now embarking on
a serious year of fundraising to create the Center that all envision.

Comments & Reviews
American Style Magazine 2005
New Hope Arts and its Sculpture New Hope exhibition was commended for its role
in the revitalization of the New Hope’s arts reputation and the river
town was named the “Top Small Town Arts Destination in America.
Edward Rendell, Governor of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania.
On behalf of all residents in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I would like
to extend my congratulations to you and the entire Borough of New Hope upon
being named “The Top Small Town Arts Destination in America” by
American Style magazine. Exciting events such as the Annual Outdoor Sculpture
Exhibit... (and) a vibrant and constantly expanding arts community serve as
an endorsement of the arts and is an excellent ambassador for the cultural
vibrancy that can be found in the greater Philadelphia region.
Nancy Barness, Board member, Pennsylvania
Council on the Arts
"New Hope Arts sounds like an organization that could really change and
revive New Hope. I was truly so impressed with all you have done.“
New Hope Mayor Larry Keller
"This wonderful concept is one more way of recognizing our special river
town of New Hope and its artistic heritage, both past and present.”
Victoria Donohoe, art critic, Philadelphia
Inquirer
"A twin bill that suggests a kind of symphony of artworks going on. And
it’s also now the visual symbol of New Hope. It’s significant to
find a new formed art organization able to mount a sculpture show of this size
and complexity, one that manages so accurately to reflect the interests and pulse
of contemporary society. New Hope Arts Inc. is a name to remember for this commendable
annual show and future art events." |
